G.L. (Lamar) Sprinkle was born and raised in Macon County, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1960.  He was employed by the North Carolina Department of Trans-portation from 1962 through 1976, where he specialized in surveying and engineering work.

Lamar became a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in North Carolina in January of 1974, and owned and operated Sprinkle Land Surveying as a sole proprietor from 1974 to 1997.  After being joined by son, Samuel L. Sprinkle (also a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in North Carolina), Sprinkle Surveying, P.A. was formed in 1997.

With over 40 years of professional land surveying experience, Lamar knows the mountains of western North Carolina well.  With a unique perspective on the history and geography of this area, Lamar specializes in Land Planning for Residential and Commercial Subdivisions.
